Giving from around the world

Thank you for considering giving to Birkbeck.

We are currently exploring tax efficient giving options from your country. In the meantime, please use our standard gift form.

Together, we can ensure background or circumstance never limits access to education. We can provide vital support so that every student has the tools to succeed. We can continue to build an environment that supports a diverse learning community and deliver world-class research with the power to create change.

Widening Access

Birkbeck’s funding opportunities and its dedication to removing barriers to education is paramount in supporting students who identify as Black and Minority Ethnic and their academic success. I work part-time alongside my studies and this bursary has removed aspects of the financial stress which positively impacts my studies. The recognition of my hard work, despite challenges that I and many other students have faced during the pandemic, has really given me a sense of encouragement and confidence.” Abigail, MA Culture, Diaspora, Ethnicity

Your support helps us meet students, like Abigail, where they are in their lives. Whether taking their first step into higher education, retraining or upskilling, advancing their career, or learning for passion, Birkbeck helps students open doors to their future.

Supporting Students

I knew from previously studying at Birkbeck that the College would fully support my disability, understand my circumstances and provide the appropriate teaching and technology to aid my learning. I also know my current studies at Birkbeck continue to nurture my overall physical and mental wellbeing.”  – Alice, MA Creative Writing

Whether providing scholarships and financial assistance or enhancing academic and pastoral services that improve outcomes, your support ensures that every student with the potential and drive to succeed can do so. .

Advancing Research

“The COVID-19 pandemic has posed obstacles to my research, notably the closure of archives that are crucial, but my supervisors and department have been unstintingly supportive. I remain profoundly grateful to my funders. It is doubtful that I would have been able to undertake my PhD at all without the support of Birkbeck, and during the current pandemic, the peace of mind that comes from secure funding has been essential to continuing my work.”Matt, PhD English & Humanities

Your support plays a vital role in supporting PhD students, postdoctoral researchers and academics as they push the limits of knowledge across areas of science, art, law, social science and business

Building Infrastruture

“From my experience, having an excellent learning environment has a massive impact on productivity and motivation levels. Knowing that you have all the resources you need and great facilities makes you want to be in that environment and continue to show up. Your surroundings have a huge effect on your mood as well, so new classroom and teaching facilities definitely drive you on and inspire creativity.” – Adeeba, MSc Cognitive Neuroscience and Neuropsychology

Your support helps us create environments that foster learning, drive collaboration and reflect that our radical 200-year-old traditions are still alive in shaping our future.
